What’s Possible
co-facilitated by Joanne Zerdy, PhD and Will Daddario, PhD

**Our NEW 6-weeek class runs from March 16 - April 20, 2025**

Overview:
Our course title: “What’s Possible” is a statement, not a question. We recognize the many intermingled and overlapping difficulties and injustices that currently exist (and have existed for many years): environmental racism, social inequities, emboldened bigotry, unjust and ineffectual social institutions, horrific warfare, livestreamed genocide, unchecked consumption, inadequately resourced schools, the degradation of the Earth and its biodiversity, and so on. Suffering abounds.

It’s hard to be a caring, sensitive, and intelligent person in the world right now. Sadism makes the headlines daily, typically greeted by nonplussed “mehs.” You’re overwhelmed. But you also give & want to help, so you find yourself in a bind: How to help without losing my mind or negatively impacting my health or losing touch with my family. During times like this, and we recognize that these times are likely to stretch on, it’s vital to connect with others & renew our collective wisdom about what’s possible.

All is not lost. Despite the appearance of this world that greets us each day, many things are possible. This includes change on various scales, playful experimentation, intentional use and reuse, creative provocation, compelling artistic interventions, and social justice reform.

This 6-week course shares evidence of this claim that many things are possible by highlighting the curiosity and creativity embedded in meaningful collaborations, the wondrous wilds of the more-than-human world, and the collective wisdom of our gathered group.

How we look at things can change with the right mix of motivation and inspiration. Meeting collectively is imperative because of the way that resilience works: if we’re in this together, then we know we have support. Oh, and this can even be fun. We can find enjoyment in creative problem solving and adept analysis.

If you’re looking for ways to live (more) meaningfully with others, to engage in thoughtful conversations, to challenge binaries, to resist social conventions and “givens,” to appreciate the wonders of our geo-social-cultural worlds, and to make interventions (on an individual, small-group, community, and-or global scale) toward co-creating a more thoughtful, compassionate, collaborative, and equitable world…. we hope that you consider joining us in “What’s Possible.” This is a Trans-Inclusive Offering.
