Doula Training: Supporting Perinatal Loss (online)

Joanne Zerdy, PhD will be teaching a one-day online course, ‘Supporting Perinatal Loss’, as part of a 8-week Full Spectrum Doula Training in collaboration with Homegrown Families.

Although the Full Spectrum Training is designed for doulas, anyone with an interest in supporting grieving parents through or following miscarriage, stillbirth, and infant death is invited to attend Supporting Perinatal Loss. This Training will cover: different forms of perinatal loss, perinatal loss disparities based on race and ethnicity, the impact of the COVID crisis, pregnancy after loss, how to offer grief support, healing practices for bereaved mothers/parents, and practicing self-care as a doula.

Through small- group discussions of case studies, we will delve into this important area of perinatal physical-mental-emotional health so that you feel more confident, skilled, and prepared to support those who experience these profound losses.

*We will also be joined by Guest Speaker, Sadija A. Smiley, bereaved mother and founder of SAILS (Stillbirth and Infant Loss Support).

Participants will receive a Certificate of Completion for attending this training as well as discounts on Inviting Abundance offerings.

Registration: $150 USD
*Partial Need-based Scholarships are available as are Equity Seats (available for those who identify as BIPOC). Please contact Joanne with queries: grow@invitingabundance.net
